How We Met and How We Happened

Some time in June 2015, one of our friends set up a snorkeling event in Monterey. We met for maybe 5 mins in the water before Matt left because he got cold. Right after, because the store had a deal to get scuba dive certified, we were one of the few who got the package right there and then. Couple of months later, during our diving course, we got to know each other more. We became dive buddies because we were in the same group and our heights matched better than the other two guys we were getting certified with. On the weekend before our first couple of dives, we stayed over at our friend's place with the other new divers in the group. On the first night, our friends (Saria and Shaba - they asked to be mentioned) who were both super drunk and out of it, had already started feeling that we had started connecting with each other. They pushed us to spend more time with each other and we ended up talking all night until 3AM - the night before our first actual dive!!! As nerve-wracking as our first dives were, Brenna learned to trust and lean on Matt very heavily - even before we started dating. Like our dive master said - it was either we save each other...or we pull the plugs. From then on, we started talking more. We started traveling more. We hit some deers along the way. We saw some bears along the way. Matt attempted to toss Brenna into the crater in Arizona. Brenna tried to push Matt into the ice in Alaska. Matt got Brenna into climbing so he could drop her 90 ft. We dove with sharks. Brenna tried to push Matt off a ledge in the Philippines. Then tried to beat him with a rock in Banff. Ah, love. Matt taught Brenna how to be more spontaneous and adventurous. Brenna taught Matt that preparing for the future didn't have to mean slowing down. We've definitely had our ups and downs. But at the end of the day, we know who we want to come home to. Our dogs. We mean, each other.
